June 18 Chairman Update
Congratulations to each of you who competed in the recent Lone Star Classic in Plano, TX. You all are to be commended. There were many great physiques presented and great sportsmanship demonstrated during this two day event.
I would like to take a moment to express the importance of checking in on time for both pre-judging and the finals. This past contest we had 3 competitors not show up on time for the finals check-in. Once the contest had begun, these competitors were disqualified from competition. Each competitor was understandably upset and I understand their disappointment. However, we must begin contest on-time and cannot wait for a few competitors to arrive at their leisure. It is unfair to other competitors and to the fans that have paid to see a well run and organized contest. Please, be sure to be on-time.
The Texas State Bodybuilding, Figure and Fitness Championships are quickly approaching. We have already received a great number of entries from around the state. The contest is shaping up to be a true shoot-out. Bodybuilding legend Shawn Ray will be hosting a Bodybuilding/Motivation Seminar on Saturday, July 15th at 4:00 at the venue. The cost for the seminar is $15.00 and tickets may be purchased the day of the event. Also Adela Garcia will be hosting a posing seminar for consistence at the contest hotel on Friday, July 14th at 6:00 the cost is $25.00, please RSVP with Adela at chicalatina99@aol.com by July 1st. Also, Valerie Waugaman will be conducting private posing seminars throughout the day on Saturday, July 15th please contact Valerie at valerie@octanecafe.com for further details and cost.
The aforementioned pros will be gracing the contest as well as our guest poser, back-to-back winner, IFBB Pro, Phil Heath. Other pro’s who have may be seen in the crowd are Betty Pariso, Johnny Jackson, Branch Warren, Lee Priest, Frank “Tiny” Roberson, David Henry, John Sherman, Quincy Taylor and others who want to come watch the best of the upcoming stars in our sport.
Tickets are now on-sale for this event and may be purchased by contacting Great Earth Vitamins at 713. 975.7094. We look forward to seeing each of you at the contest.
